12.5% of export declarations were issued in automatic mode in the first quarter of 2017
Automatic release of goods is one of the bright examples of the contactless method of customs operations conducting. Its application in respect of goods placed under the customs procedures for export and release for domestic consumption lived up to the expectations of the customs authorities of Belarus and business entities.
So, in the first quarter of 2017 more than 13 thousand export declarations were released in automatic mode, which represented 12.5% of the total number of such declarations.
The automatic release of import declarations experiment has begun in September 2016. For seven months, the number of declarations issued in this mode amounted to about 10.5 thousand.
At the same time, the average time for clearance from the moment the electronic document is accepted by the customs authorities' information system to automatic release with respect to goods placed under the customs procedure for export is on average 1-2 minutes, the goods placed under the customs procedure for domestic consumption is 5-6 minutes.
Automatic release is one of the directions for accelerating the conduct of customs operations, since the decision to issue goods is taken by a computer, and not by an official of the customs authority. Customs control takes much less time, which in turn contributes significantly to solving one of the main tasks - improving the investment climate and entrepreneurial initiative in the country.
