Attempt to import antique furniture underestimated by 4 times was suppressed
Illegal movement of a large batch of underestimated by 4 times expensive antique furniture was stopped by Vitebsk customs officers.
A «Mercedes-Benz» vehicle with a batch of tables, chairs and bookcases followed from Belgium to the territory of the EAEU through «Grigorovshchina» checkpoint. According to the documents presented to the customs authority for clearance of the goods, the cost of the furniture was 39 thousand euros. However, during the inspection, customs officers established that the real cost of antique pieces of furniture is more than 156 thousand euros. In addition, customs officers found 10 items that were not listed in the accompanying documents at all.
In accordance with the law, 146 pieces of antique furniture were seized. Vitebsk Customs initiated the administrative process regarding this fact in accordance with Part 1 and Part 3 of Art. 14.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus.
