First bilateral agreement on cooperation in customs matters was signed today between Governments of Belarus and Kingdom of Netherlands
The document was developed with a view to establishing a legal basis for bilateral cooperation, its provisions determine the basic principles and forms of mutual assistance, as well as the procedure for cooperation in presenting information necessary for the suppression and investigation of offenses.
"Today's meeting will make it possible to identify promising directions and concrete steps of cooperation between the customs bodies of Belarus and the Netherlands, considering that our cooperation was previously built exclusively within the framework of the World Customs Organization. I am sure that in the long term, the practical implementation of this Agreement will promote the unification and harmonization of customs procedures, will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of implementation by the customs authorities of the two countries of the tasks facing them, "Yury Senko said.
This is the first bilateral agreement regulating such issues between the Republic of Belarus and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
