During the special event near the Belarusian-Russian border, Vitebsk customs stopped a SCANIA truck that followed to the Russian Federation.
The driver of the Russian carrier company provided customs officers with documents on a batch of ceramic tiles.
When inspecting the road train, only three boxes were found with the goods specified in the documents. In all the others, frozen salmon ridges and fillets banned for import into Russia.
The weight of fish products without accompanying documents and confirming the safety of the phytosanitary certificate was about 20 tons. The cost, according to the initial assessment, was more than 66 thousand Belarusian rubles.
Vitebsk customs initiated the administrative process regarding the fact in accordance with Part 4 of Art. 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Belarus. The article provides for a fine of up to 50% of the value of the goods. The goods were detained.
