Governments of Belarus and Egypt will sign Agreement. This is the 28th country with which cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters at similar level will be secured
The agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Belarus and the Arab Republic of Egypt on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters will be signed by the heads of the customs services of the two countries.
The document defines the basic principles and forms of cooperation between the customs authorities of Belarus and Egypt. The implementation of its provisions will enhance the unification and harmonization of customs procedures, have a positive impact on the implementation of the tasks facing the customs authorities of two states.
The conclusion of the Agreement will allow the customs authorities of the two countries to establish direct contacts between their law enforcement units by mutual agreement in order to ensure prompt cooperation in the fight against customs violations.
By the way, in the customs area such agreements have already been concluded with 27 countries, as well as a similar multilateral agreement within the framework of the CIS.
The Belarusian customs is actively working to expand the number of countries with which it is planned to sign international treaties: in the near future, with Uruguay, South Korea and Japan.
In total, the international treaty base of the Republic of Belarus in the field of customs contains over 80 international treaties relating to various aspects of customs cooperation.
