Grodno customs officials stopped attempt of illegal import of cold steel into the country
Officers of the anti-smuggling department of Grodno regional customs found cold steel of piercing-cutting action in the luggage of a driver who was driving to the territory of the EAEU by 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser car.
The 40-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation followed through Berestovitsa checkpoint. He stated about absence of goods subject to obligatory written declarations. The customs officers found knives, allegedly related to cold steel in the trunk of the car. The items were wrapped in plastic bags and concealed among the driver's personal belongings.
According to the expert of the Slonim interdistrict department of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise, 10 bayonet knives and 1 bayonet are cold steel of a piercing-cutting action. The 1918 Swiss bayonet knife to the 1911 Schmidt-Rubin infantry rifle, the 7.62 mm bayonet of Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine (USSR), and bayonet knives to the French, Italian, Yugoslavian, Spanish 1948-1958 rifles were among them.
