Over 18 tons of frozen champignons were moved illegally
Vitebsk customs officers stopped an attempt of a Russian business entity to import a batch of mushrooms under the guise of another product into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.
A vehicle arrived at Grigorovshchina automobile checkpoint. According to the documents presented by the driver, 18 tons of fried champignons were moved in the cargo compartment of the car. However, as a result of the inspection, it was established that under the guise of fried mushrooms, frozen mushrooms with addition of oil were moved. The goods are classified differently and have a higher rate of import customs duty, and are also prohibited to be imported into the territory of the Russian Federation due to special economic measures.
Thus, when declaring the goods “frozen mushrooms with addition of oil”, false information was indicated.
The cost of the batch of mushrooms was over 33 thousand rubles. Vitebsk Customs initiated the administrative process regarding the fact in accordance with Part 3 of Art. 14.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
