A large batch of German cheese followed to the territory of the EAEU under the guise of other products
Officials of Grodno regional customs prevented the attempt to move almost 11 tons of German cheese from Lithuania into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union under the guise of another product.
The violation of the legislation was detected at Benyakoni border crossing point during the customs control of a Volvo truck. In accordance with the shipping documents submitted by the driver of the car, a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, more than 20 tons of cheese products were moved in the cargo compartment.
However, when carrying out additional forms of customs control within the framework of the risk management system, it was established that in fact the most part of the goods (almost 11 tons) was cheese "DORBLU". The large batch of the product had neither accompanying documents nor a veterinary certificate, the submission of which is obligatory for the import of goods into the territory of the EAEU.
According to preliminary estimates, the cost of the illegally moving products is more than 600 thousand Belarusian rubles. Since the value of the goods exceeds the large amount (2 thousand base units), Grodno regional customs checks this fact in connection with the presence of signs of the crime provided for in Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (Smuggling).
