Belarusian and polish dog handlers exchanged working experience in Brest
Experience exchange training for cynologists of customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus and Republic of Poland took place at the Brest Custom House.
The event became possible thanks to the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020 and to the implementation of one of its projects “Strengthening the capacity of the dog service of the Customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus and Republic of Poland” financed by the EU.
The officers of the Revenue Administration Regional Office in Bialystok and officers of Belarusian customs cynological departments took part in the training.
Polish guests got acquainted in details with Brest Custom House activity and its departments work. Colleagues of the neighboring states discussed organization of customs control using service dogs and joint interaction on the border for the purpose of combating the illegal traffic of drugs and psychotropic substances.
During practical part of the training its participants visited republican border crossing points “Varshavski Most” and “Kozlovichi” At Belarusian-Polish border cynologists shared the methods of using service dogs during the inspection of freight transport, cars, buses, passenger baggage and indoor areas.
Implementation of the project “Strengthening the capacity of the dog service of the Customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus and Republic of Poland” contributes to more effective combating the illegal traffic of goods, illicit drugs and psychotropic substances and to increasing the level of residents safety in the programme area.
