Customs officers have already released electronically about 1,100 shipments of transit goods following by Naushki-Brest rail link
About 1,100 shipments of goods transported by rail on Naushki-Brest route were released by Belarusian customs officers in electronic form with the complete exception of paper workflow.
Such a project was launched in April this year. It is implemented by the Belarusian and Russian customs services together with the railway administrations of the two countries. The whole point of the experiment is the movement and processing of transit cargo by container trains on Naushki-Brest route solely on the basis of electronic document management. This makes it possible to exclude the submission to the customs authorities of paper documents and putting down marks in them, which significantly speeds up the process of cargo clearance.
Currently, the Belarusian Customs Service is working on the issue of organizing a similar project in the opposite direction - on Brest - Naushki route.
