Georgian carrier company tried to import 20 tons of hazelnuts into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. According to the submitted documents the value of peeled nuts was understated by more than three times.
DAF vehicle followed through Novaya Guta checkpoint. The driver submitted to customs clearance a set of documents for the good ”peeled nuts kernels (hazelnuts)“, the cost of which, according to the documents, amounted to 47 thousand US dollars.
At the same time, during further inspection activities, Gomel customs officers established that the cost of a batch of nuts was understated by more than three times. It was also confirmed by individual copies of accompanying documents found during the inspection of the vehicle cabin: real price was about 132 thousand US dollars.
Gomel Customs seized a DAF vehicle, and initiated the administrative process in accordance with Part 3 of Art. 14.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense.
