Minsk customs officers stopped four attempts to send raw amber in international postal items (video)
In carrying out customs operations in relation to international postal items departing from our country, Minsk regional customs officers stopped attempts to export raw amber. The senders intended to mail the mineral to Kuwait.
According to the documents, "stones for aquarium" and "souvenirs" were moved in four parcels. The customs inspection showed a different thing: instead of the declared goods, there were stones of light yellow and brown color of various shapes that resembled raw amber.
According to the conclusion of an expert from the Customs Laboratory, the found stones are raw amber, the export of which from the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union by individuals as goods for personal use is prohibited.
The amber, the total weight of which was almost 6 kg, was seized. According to the facts, Minsk regional customs initiated the administrative processes in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 14.1 Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
