More than half a million packs of cigarettes, route from Russia to the European Union, were found by customs officers in the cases of lighting devices that were in factory packaging (video)
At the Bruzgi-2 checkpoint, Grodno customs officers detected an attempt to illegally export tobacco products to the territory of the European Union.
According to shipping documents, the Polish carrier moved the export cargo "Lighting equipment" from the Russian Federation. Сarrying out customs control of the car "MAS" with the use of X-ray inspection complex, 535 thousand packs of cigarettes were found in the sealed cargo semi-trailer in the cases of transported lighting devices.
The lighting devices were in their original packaging on pallets and were wrapped in plastic wrap. Inside each lamp case were cigarettes, which had to be removed by removing the factory rivets on the products. In each lamp case, and there were more than 1140 pieces, cigarettes were hidden. Features of manufacturing cases and placement of cigarettes suggest that tobacco products were placed inside in factory conditions.
On this fact, employees of the Grodno regional customs started an administrative process in accordance with part 2 of article 14.1 of the administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
