Operational Customs officers revealed the fact of a double understatement of the value of a passenger bus imported into the territory of the EAEU
Operational Customs officers stopped an attempt to smuggle into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union a passenger bus from the Republic of Lithuania.
The bus was imported through the Kamenny Log checkpoint, where signs of a possible violation of customs legislation using the risk analysis and management system were identified. In this regard, the vehicle was sent to the departmental customs clearance point for verification activities.
As a result of the inspection, operational officers found that the documents submitted to the customs control contained inaccurate information about the value of the vehicle — the value was underestimated more than twice in order to evade customs payments in full.
Regarding the fact, Operational Customs initiated administrative process in accordance with Part 3 of Art. 14.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense, in this case — passenger bus. The real value of the vehicle amounted to about 23 thousand Belarusian rubles.
