The construction of the X-ray inspection complex started at the checkpoint «Berestovitsa» of Grodno regional customs
Construction of an X-ray scanning vehicle control system has started at the checkpoint «Berestovitsa». The leading beneficiary of this international project (LIP/0015), implemented within the framework of the cross-border cooperation Program "Poland-Belarus-Ukraine" 2014-2020, is the Grodno regional customs. The EU's financial contribution is more than 4 million euros.
A major infrastructure project includes a complex of buildings for customs control of vehicles, containers, cargo and luggage with the use of an X-ray inspection complex. Engineering networks will be laid to the facility, fire reservoirs will be built, backup power sources will be provided, and driveways and platforms on the territory of the checkpoint will be partially reconstructed.
Now the site for the construction of the X-ray inspection complex has already been prepared, the Foundation of the hangar of the X-ray installation and the administrative control room is being built. Work has begun on replacing the asphalt pavement at the entrance of cargo transport from Poland to Belarus, as well as Parking areas for cargo vehicles.
The project, aimed at reducing the time of customs control and improving security at the Belarusian-Polish border, also provides training for specialists in the study of scans.
For reference: the use of an X-ray inspection complex or the so-called "non-Intrusive" method of inspection allows you to thoroughly examine the contents of a vehicle without opening it in an average of 10-15 minutes.
