The heads of the Belarusian customs and representative Office of the IOM in the Republic of Belarus have discussed the effective implementation of international technical assistance projects in the SCC today.
Today, the meeting of Yuri Senko, the Chairman of the SCC, and Zeynal Hajiyev ,the Head of the international organization for migration in Belarus, have taken place in the State customs Committee, where the results of productive cooperation between customs authorities and IOM on the implementation of international technical assistance projects were summed up.
Thus, in 2015, an electronic system of preliminary information exchange was launched at the checkpoint "Novaya Huta ", and now it is effective in operation within the framework of the project " Support to the creation of an electronic system of pre-arrival information exchange between the customs authorities of Belarus and Ukraine (PRINEX)". The total project budget for the Republic of Belarus have been about 2 million euros, including 1.8 million euros due to European funding. The representative office of the International organization for migration(IOM) in the Republic of Belarus was the executing organization for the project.
Today, the project "Introduction of an automated intelligent video-control system at road border crossing point Novaya Huta Novi Yarilovychi at the Belarus-Ukraine frontier",which was started in 2017, is nearly complete.
The state customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus is the lead beneficiary and the representative Office of the IOM is also the executing organization for the project. This project is implemented jointly with the State fiscal service of Ukraine. The EU contribution to the project for the customs authorities of the Republic of Belarus have been about 0.4 million euros.
IOM will also take part in such promising projects as "Installation of a stationary inspection and inspection complex at the Novaya Huta road checkpoint" and "Development of a mobile application to assist in crossing the state border". The projects, where the State customs Committee is the leading beneficiary, have been supported and already agreed with the partner-the State fiscal service of Ukraine.
Chairman of the SCC Yuri Senko thanked citizen Hajiyev for effective cooperation in connection with the completion of his mission in the Republic of Belarus.
