The local computer networks at the checkpoints «Bruzgi» and «Berestoviсa», upgraded with international technical assistance, have been put into operation
Construction and installation work on the modernization of local computer networks within the framework of the international technical assistance project "Improving border management operations at the road checkpoints «Bruzgi» and «Berestoviсa» has been completed in full. The equipment is set up and put into operation.
The project is implemented within the framework of the cross-border cooperation program "Poland-Belarus-Ukraine" 2014-2020 of the European neighbourhood instrument. The leading beneficiary is the Grodno regional customs.
As part of the modernization of local computer networks, the latest server equipment and network storage were installed, fiber-optic cable was laid, and computer equipment and office equipment were replaced. In total, 4 servers and about 330 pieces of equipment were purchased, such as stationary computers, laptops, IP phones, switches, printers, and uninterruptible power supplies.
These innovations will increase the efficiency of customs control operations and have a positive impact on border security.
The use of upgraded local computer networks will enhance the security of storage and transmission of information from customs systems and personal data of persons, crossing the border, ensuring uninterrupted operation at checkpoints in the event of repairs or emergencies in the power supply networks.
The total financial contribution of the European Union to the project "Improving border management operations at road checkpoints «Bruzgi» and «Berestoviсa» (PBU1/0683/16) is about 1 million euros.
