Vitebsk customs officers at the Grigorovshchyna checkpoint revealed the fact of importation of tablets containing psychotropic substances into the territory of the EAEU.
The pills were hidden from customs control by a Latvian citizen who arrived as a passenger in one of the passenger cars.
The presence of psychotropic substances in his possession was indicated by a service dog.
During the inspection of the man's personal belongings, yellow and purple pills were extracted from a keyring tube and a jar labeled "multivitamins".
According to the expert of the SFEC office for the Vitebsk region, the seized drugs contain dangerous psychotropic substances — tramadol and alprazolam.
Vitebsk Customs has opened a criminal case against a citizen in accordance with Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, which provides for punishment up to seven years in prison.
