Another criminal case was initiated by the Operational Customs on the fact of illegal movement of a large amount of cash across the border.

This time, an attempt was made by a citizen of Tajikistan who arrived at Minsk National Airport with a flight from Tashkent. To cross the border, the man chose a green channel intended for travel without goods subject to declaration.

However, during customs operations, employees of the Minsk Regional Customs found more than 40 thousand US dollars and 21 thousand Uzbek sums with him. And this is more than 4 times higher than the established norm for the movement of funds without customs declaration.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the sanction of which provides for punishment up to imprisonment for up to five years, as well as confiscation of funds.

Once again, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that when moving over 10 thousand US dollars in equivalent across the customs border, you must choose the red channel and fill out the passenger customs declaration. Criminal liability is threatened for the illegal movement of over 30 thousand US dollars in equivalent.
