Vitebsk customs officers from the Grigorovshchyna checkpoint stopped an attempt by a truck driver to import marijuana and hashish into the territory of the EAEU.

A transparent ZIP package with a substance of plant origin was found in the personal belongings of a citizen of Kazakhstan.

The second ZIP package with a prohibited substance, hidden in the hollow space of the window sill of the passport control module, was pointed out by a customs service dog.

According to the results of the forensic genetic examination, the involvement of the same Kazakh driver in his concealment was established.

The conclusions of the SCSE experts in the Vitebsk region confirmed that the seized substances are narcotic drugs - marijuana and hashish.

Vitebsk Customs has initiated a criminal case against a citizen in accordance with Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of up to seven years in prison.

Verkhnedvinsky District Department of the Investigative Committee also initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
