Vitebsk customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally import two large shipments of engine and transmission oils from the Netherlands to the territory of the EAEU.

The goods were transported by a Kazakh carrier in two trucks through the Grigorovshchyna checkpoint. False information was stated in the documents submitted for control in order to intentionally underestimate the customs duties to be paid.

During the verification measures, the customs officers established valid information on the shipments. The actual total cost of the shipments was over 550 thousand Belarusian rubles, and the amount of unpaid payments was about 76 thousand Belarusian rubles.

Vitebsk Customs has initiated an administrative process against the Kazakh carrier in accordance with Part 3 of Article 15.5 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for the imposition of a fine in the amount of up to 30% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense.
