A large shipment of inventory and equipments for sports of well-known European producers had intended to bring into the territory of the EEU at a seven-fold reduced cost
Illegal import to the territory of the EEU of large quantities of goods for sports famous Austrian, French, Italian and German producers was stopped by customs officers during special events.

The DAF truck was traveling from Lithuania in transit through Belarus. In the cargo compartment of the vehicle that arrived at the checkpoint «Kamenny Log», there were more than 7 thousand units of sporting goods: skis, snowboards, ski helmets, boots and other sports equipment. The total weight of the goods was 10.5 tons.

The driver of the heavy truck presented customs officers with documents containing false information about the value of the goods. It is established that the declared value is underestimated by seven times, which, accordingly, would significantly affect the reduction of the amount of customs payments to be paid.

The estimated cost of sporting goods in fact amounted to more than 830 thousand belarusian rubles.

On this fact, the Operational customs initiated an administrative process in accordance with part 3 of article 14.5 of the administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus, the sanction of which provides for a fine of up to 30% of the value of goods.
