Customs authorities take measures to protect intellectual property rights in respect of more than 380 trademarks included in the national customs register
Today, the national customs register of intellectual property objects includes more than 380 trademarks, belonging to both foreign and Belarusian copyright holders.
The structure of such goods is dominated by alcoholic beverages, household chemicals, cosmetics, confectionery, auto parts, equipment, technical oils.
If the goods are placed under customs procedures lead to signs of infringement of the rights to intellectual property objects included in the register, the release period for such goods is suspended for 10 working days. During this time, the right holder (his representative) may apply to the customs authorities, internal affairs bodies and other authorized bodies for the protection of their rights.

In 2020, the customs authorities, under аrticle 9.21 of the Administrative Code ("Violation of copyright, related rights and industrial property rights"), suppressed more than 60 offenses on the facts of illegal use of trademarks, and there was also the fact of storing counterfeit copies of copyright objects.
