Customs officers will perform the functions of border guards in "Novaya Rudnya", "Kotlovka" and "Mokrany"
Customs officers will perform some functions of border guards at the checkpoints "Novaya Rudnya", "Kotlovka" and "Mokrany". This is stipulated by the resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 144 of 12 March 2021, which is officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal today, BelTA reports.
The document adds to the list of checkpoints across the state border, where the customs authorities perform certain functions of the border service bodies. So, now customs officers will perform some functions of border guards at the checkpoint "Novaya Rudnya" on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. In "Mokrany" on the border with Ukraine, they will start working in this mode from January 1, 2022, and in "Kotlovka" on the border with Lithuania - from September 1, 2021. For each point, the functions of the border service bodies performed by the customs authorities are defined.
Previously, this list included the automobile checkpoint "Kozlovichi", the railway "Bigosovo" and "Gudogai" and the "Orsha Airfield".
The Resolution comes into force after its official publication.
