An envelope with a substance containing a psychotropic was sent from Ukraine to a resident of the Brest region.
The correspondence was meant for a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1981. Russian national has been living in Belarus since 2005. Both the sender and the recipient of the letter have previous convictions.
During the customs control operations, the content of the envelope aroused suspicion.
Customs Laboratory examination confirmed the availability of the banned substance pseudoephedrine. According to the conclusion of the National Anti-Doping Laboratory, the content of the psychotropic substance was at least 45%.
The movement of psychotropic substances in international mail is prohibited.
Pseudoephedrine is a white crystalline powder with a weak specific odor, which is similar in pharmacological properties to ephedrine, but less active and toxic. Pseudoephedrine is a psychostimulant. It can cause hallucinations and anxiety.
Regarding the fact, a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 328-1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus was initiated.
