Gomel customs dog handlers found marijuana and methamphetamine in a Ukrainian trucker who was under the influence of drugs and psychotropic substances crossing the border
Marijuana and a syringe with methamphetamine were found in the possession of a Ukrainian citizen at the checkpoint « Novaya Guta »
The 36-year-old trucker was performing international transportation from Ukraine to Russia. When he was asked about the presence of prohibited or restricted substances in personal belongings across the customs border, he answered in the negative.
During customs control, the service dog's behavior indicated the possible presence of prohibited substances. As a result, among the personal belongings of the citizen, customs officers found a paper parcel with a dried substance of plant origin, as well as a fragment of a syringe with an unknown substance of brown color.
An expert of the Department of the state Committee of forensic examinations in the Gomel region found that the paper parcel contained marijuana, and the fragment of the syringe contained a particularly dangerous psychotropic substance – methamphetamine.
A citizen of Ukraine was under the influence of prohibited substances during customs control. Cannabioids, amphetamine and methamphetamine were found in his system.
The Ukrainian is detained. Gomel customs opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 2 of article 328-1 of the criminal code of the Republic of Belarus.
