Thanks to the new REX system, Belarusian exports to Norway and Switzerland will become less expensive and faster. The corresponding Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus came into force today
The Republic of Belarus has introduced a system of registered exporters - REX (Registered Exporter System), used by Norway and Switzerland in the framework of national preferential schemes.
This is determined by Presidential decree No. 236 of June 23, 2020 "on registration in the system of registered exporters", which entered into force today.
In order to use this system when exporting goods to Norway and Switzerland, a participant in foreign economic activity must obtain the status of a registered exporter in the REX system by contacting the Belarusian chamber of Commerce and industry.
After that, the exporter will be able to independently declare information about the Belarusian origin of goods in commercial documents that will be used in Norway and Switzerland to provide tariff preferences for Belarusian products.
Previously, Belarusian exporters had to issue a certificate of origin in the form of "A" for each exported consignment, which was the basis for applying tariff preferences when importing Belarusian products to the territory of Norway or Switzerland.
