The experts recognized the bits illegally imported into the territory of the EEU as cold weapons, the movement of which is possible only if there are permits (video)
Brest customs officers stopped an attempt to illegally move 500 bits, recognized by experts as cold weapons, to the territory of the EEU.
A MERCEDES truck with a combined cargo, among which were the bits, arrived for customs clearance at the departmental customs clearance point. The vehicle was coming from Ukraine.
Carrying out customs control in relation to the transported goods, the officials noticed that the wooden bits have signs of objects that may be restricted to movement across the customs border.
According to the documents submitted by the driver, a citizen of Ukraine, the goods were declared as souvenirs and were sent to the address of the recipient company in the Minsk district.
The assumptions of the customs officers were confirmed by the conclusion of the expert of the Brest Interdistrict Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations of the Republic of Belarus, according to which the goods belong to the category of cold weapons restricted to import into the territory of the EEU.
The bits were seized before the court's decision. The Brest customs is conducting a check on this fact.
