First Deputy Chairman of the State customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Orlovsky held the first lesson for students of customs classes of secondary school No. 1 in Brest.
Today, a new customs class was opened in this school in the parallel of the eighth grades. It will train 29 students over the next four years. In General, the school has four customs classes, and the total number of students in them is 112. By number, this is a quarter of all children, who study in customs classes in all regions of the country. By the way, at the end of the current school year, Brest will host the first graduation of customs officers-eleventh graders.
At the first lesson on "I grew up here, and this region is dear to me", Vladimir Orlovsky noted the importance of such classes for professional orientation of schoolchildren: "the Belarusian customs purposefully supports the training of future customs officers, starting from school. We are interested in young professionals, who are competent, intelligent and familiar with the profession since school age. I am sure that specialized customs classes help children to choose their profession as consciously as possible."
The first Deputy Chairman of the SCC got acquainted with the conditions for obtaining education in the customs classes of secondary school No. 1. The Director of secondary school No. 1 Margarita Bogdanovich told the representatives of customs authorities about the specifics of training in specialized classes.
Customs officers organized a demonstration of technical means of customs control and demonstration performances of the dog service for the children.
Representatives of the Belarusian customs visited schoolchildren from customs classes in all regions of the Republic and congratulated them on the day of knowledge. Today, there are 17 customs classes in the country, which teach 400 children.
Training of qualified personnel for the customs service is carried out at the Belarusian state University, the Belarusian national technical University, the Belarusian state University of transport, the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, and from September 2020 – at the Polotsk state University.
Today we all feel a thrill, because this day is dear to each of us who studied, learns and teaches. It is especially exciting for children – an interesting, rich and responsible time begins, filled with learning, communication, new experiences and discoveries. This is another stage for teachers. It is on you that the personal and, in the future, professional development of the younger generation, the formation of their active social and life position largely depends.
Creating favorable conditions for education and creative self-realization of children helps to bring up a decent generation. The future of Belarus depends on those, who sit at school today.
