Today, at a meeting of the public Advisory Council under the State customs Committee, representatives of customs authorities and business discussed topical issues of interaction.
The event, which was held by videoconference, was attended by representatives of the state customs Committee, customs, departmental Institute, RUE "Beltamozhservice" and the business community.
Opening the meeting, first Deputy Chairman of the state customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky noted that today customs and business strive to work in line with current trends in the field of customs administration and make the most of innovations based on modern technological solutions.
One of these areas is the implementation of a pilot project on performing customs operations in the electronic declaration center since September. In a short period of time, the project proved its effectiveness: it was started on the basis of the Minsk regional customs and expanded to the national level in a couple of months, first connecting Mogilev customs, and then Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel and Grodno regional ones.
Representatives of foreign economic activity positively assess the work and functionality of the electronic declaration center: the uniform distribution of declarations for goods between customs clearance points can significantly reduce the time of release of goods.
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the specifics of applying certain types of enforcement of the obligation to pay customs duties and taxes during the transit of goods, the practice of using Bank guarantees in the form of electronic documents, and focused on the aspects of exporting goods placed under the customs procedure of the free customs zone.
The issues of developing and improving interaction with business are constantly in the focus of the customs authorities, and the public Advisory Council is an excellent platform for finding a compromise in solving problems in which both sides are interested.
