The main issue on the agenda of customs cooperation with China is the creation of a separate Commission on customs and quarantine cooperation within the framework of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation Committee. As a result of the negotiations, the General customs administration of China supported the proposal of the state customs Committee of Belarus to create such a body.
Currently, work on the relevant international act is being carried out through the diplomatic channels of Belarus and China. The Committee will become a progressive level of interdepartmental cooperation with the Chinese customs, a professional platform for regulating issues in the customs sphere and allowing Belarusian goods to enter the Chinese market.
In addition, taking into account the cross-year of regional cooperation between the two countries in 2020-2022, negotiations were held with the Chinese side on the possibility of establishing second-level customs cooperation, i.e. "customs-customs". Chinese customs has already proposed to consider the option of "twinning" with the customs of Tianjin (one of the four cities of Central subordination in China).
